From this fascination with beauty and perfection comes a desire for people to try and achieve similar standards to those seen on the television and in magazines, and it is common knowledge that this has in turn spurred a growth in the amount of people going under the knife.
 
This may be a true statement to make and is not necessarily a bad one to make.

The term ‘plastic surgery’ covers so much more than simply breast augmentations and rhinoplasty undertaken by women desperate to look like the latest hot young thing on MTV.
 
Plastic surgery can offer some people a new lease of life, plastic surgery can take someone from the brink of depression and low self esteem to becoming someone confident to walk with their head held high.
